The mesh race vest was one of the initial products Ron Hill pioneered back in the early 1970’s alongside the split race short. Product at the time wasn’t designed for purpose. Cotton vests were staple items worn to run in, which held onto sweat and became heavy; the very antithesis of what you wanted. Through research, experience and a desire to make a vest that you could actually run and perform in Ron set about producing what runners needed. Lightweight, breathable and high wicking fabrics were sourced and produced resulting in the mesh running vest.
Today, whilst fabrics have evolved, the principles of what Ron pioneered over 50 years ago can be found in the Featherlight Bonded Race T-shirt.
It is the lightest and most technical t-shirt Ronhill have ever produced – 38 grams (for a size 12 vest). There are bonded seams across the whole product, which are free of all stitching and give a light, clean finish.
